Ostuni 2017
The aim of the restoration project was to bring back life to these trulli, preserving their integrity and original beauty, and the result was “La Cipressa,” nestled among the hills and ancient olive trees.
To achieve this, the chosen materials reflect the simplicity of the traditional Apulian style, such as tuff finished with a white lime milk wash, “cocciopesto” (a type of mortar made from crushed bricks) that recalls the theme of ancient wine presses, and iron with its hardness and essential lines, creating a contrast with the candid white of the trulli, providing the place with a typical atmosphere of the territory.
The furnishings are the result of meticulous design and a search for reusing antique pieces found on-site.
